Plasma Fibroblast on the Sunshine Coast: What to Expect from a Non-Surgical Eyelift

If you've started to notice your upper eyelids feeling a little heavier, or your eye makeup doesn't sit the way it used to, you're not alone. Many clients who visit The Age Well Room aren't ready for (or simply don't want) surgery, but they'd love a fresher, more open look around the eyes.

That's where Plasma Fibroblast comes in. Here's an honest look at what it is, who it may suit, and what healing really looks like.

I'm Bec, the owner and practitioner here at The Age Well Room in Maroochydore. I'm an award-winning Plasma Fibroblast practitioner and an Australian Trainer, so this is a treatment I'm genuinely passionate about, and one I like to explain honestly.

What Is Plasma Fibroblast?

Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical skin treatment. It uses a small handheld device that creates a tiny electrical arc (the "plasma") just above the surface of the skin. Each point of contact leaves a small carbon dot, and these dots are placed in a careful pattern across the treatment area.

The skin then goes through its own natural healing and repair process over the following weeks. There are no incisions or stitches involved.

At The Age Well Room, Plasma Fibroblast can be used on a range of areas, including:

  • Upper eye (hooded eyelift)
  • Under eye
  • Crow's feet
  • Forehead
  • Lip lines
  • Jowls
  • Neck

Who Does Plasma Fibroblast Suit?

Plasma Fibroblast may suit people who are looking for a non-surgical option to address concerns such as hooding, fine lines or loose skin, and who are comfortable with a few days of visible healing.

It isn't right for everyone, though. Skin type, health history, medications and your expectations all play a part. That's why every Plasma Fibroblast journey here starts with a consultation. The best way to know if it's suitable for you is to book a consultation so we can check your skin and talk it through together.

A Focus on Hooded Eyelids and Under Eyes

The upper eye (hooded eyelift)

The upper eyelid is one of the most popular areas for Plasma Fibroblast. Heavy, hooded skin above the eye can make you look tired even when you're not, and Plasma Fibroblast offers a way to treat this delicate area without surgery.

The under-eye area

The under eye is another common focus, particularly for crepey skin and fine lines. It can be treated on its own or alongside the upper eye, depending on your goals.

What Happens on the Day

Before your appointment

Good preparation helps your skin get the most out of treatment. In the lead-up, please:

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before
  • Avoid caffeine for 12 hours before
  • Stop AHAs and retinol for 4 weeks before
  • Stop acids for 2 weeks before
  • Avoid tanning for 1 week before
  • Take vitamin C (2000mg daily) from 1 week before your treatment until 3 months after
  • Remove lash extensions and contact lenses before treatment (for eye treatments)

During your treatment

On the day, we'll go over your goals and questions, prepare the skin, then place the carbon dots across the treatment area. I'll talk you through each step so you always know what's happening.

Your Healing Timeline

Knowing what's normal makes healing far less daunting. Here's what to expect:

  • Day 1–2: You'll see small carbon dots on the skin. The area will feel hot and tight, and there may be some pinpoint bleeding.
  • Day 2–4: Swelling is likely, and you may notice some mild clear fluid. This is normal.
  • Day 4–9: The dots begin to shed, revealing new pink skin. Please never pick them; let them fall away on their own.
  • Week 1–4: Your skin is still repairing. Keep it hydrated and use SPF 50+ and vitamin C.
  • Week 4–8: New collagen is forming, and your skin will look healthier and plumper.
  • Week 8–12: You'll be seeing near-final results.

Aftercare: Looking After Your Skin

Aftercare is a big part of a good result. While you heal:

  • Don't wear makeup over the crusts
  • Apply healing balm from the day after your treatment
  • Wear SPF 50+ and a hat when you're outdoors (especially important under our Sunshine Coast sun)
  • Avoid saunas and tanning until you've fully healed
  • Wait 6 weeks before reintroducing active skincare products

I'll go through your aftercare in detail before you leave, and you're always welcome to get in touch if you're unsure about anything during healing.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

This depends on your skin, the area being treated and the result you're hoping for. Some people are happy after one treatment, while others choose to have more. If a repeat treatment is recommended, it can be done from week 12, once your skin has had time to fully heal and show its results. We'll discuss a realistic plan for you at your consultation.

Plasma Fibroblast FAQs

Is Plasma Fibroblast a non-surgical eyelift?

Yes. Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical treatment that can be used on the upper eyelids to address hooding, without incisions or stitches. At The Age Well Room in Maroochydore, it's one of our most requested treatments.

What does healing look like after Plasma Fibroblast?

Small carbon dots appear on the skin straight away, with heat, tightness and swelling over the first few days. The dots usually shed between days 4 and 9, revealing new pink skin. Near-final results are seen around weeks 8 to 12.

How should I prepare for Plasma Fibroblast?

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and caffeine for 12 hours beforehand, stop AHAs and retinol 4 weeks before, acids 2 weeks before and tanning 1 week before. Take vitamin C (2000mg daily) from 1 week before until 3 months after.

Can I wear makeup after Plasma Fibroblast?

Makeup shouldn't be worn over the crusts. Let the carbon dots shed naturally, use a healing balm from the next day, and protect your skin with SPF 50+ and a hat.
