WONDER Axon is a body treatment that makes your muscles contract strongly while you lie still. At The Age-Well Room in Maroochydore, I use it for muscle toning and strength in the legs, glutes, inner thighs, tummy, sides and arms. I'm Bec Westman, the owner and practitioner here. I'd much rather you understand exactly what's involved before you book, so here's an honest look at how WONDER Axon works, what a session feels like, and who it isn't for.

What is WONDER Axon?

WONDER Axon is a non-surgical body treatment. Applicators are placed over the muscle group being worked on, and the device sends energy into the muscle that makes it contract, over and over, without you having to move. It uses electromagnetic muscle stimulation.
Because the contractions are driven by the device rather than by you, they can be stronger and more sustained than most people can manage on their own. It's not a replacement for moving your body. Think of it as something that may work alongside your walks, classes or gym sessions.

What a session is like

  • How long it takes: a session takes 25 minutes.
  • What to wear: we provide cotton clothes for you to wear during your session.
  • During the session: you lie comfortably while the applicators are positioned. You'll feel strong, deep muscle contractions. Most people describe it as a bit like an intense workout without moving. I start gently and adjust the intensity for you, and I check in with you the whole way through. If anything feels too much, just tell me and I'll turn it down.
  • Afterwards: you can get on with your day. Your muscles may feel worked, tired or a little sore for a day or two, much like after a hard workout. That's normal.

Who it may suit, and who it isn't for

WONDER Axon may suit people who want a non-surgical option for muscle toning and strength, alongside regular movement.
Please know that WONDER Axon is not a weight-loss treatment. It's a muscle toning and strengthening treatment, and it isn't a substitute for healthy eating or regular exercise.
It also isn't suitable for everyone. It may not be right for you if you are pregnant or have metal in your spine or hips. I'll go through your health history with you at your consultation before any treatment.

How many sessions?

There's no one-size-fits-all number. It depends on your goals, the areas you'd like to work on and your everyday activity. I'll suggest a plan at your consultation and we'll review how you're going along the way. Most clients come in for one session a week until they're happy with the results.
