Fusion8 Plasma Skin Treatments in Maroochydore
Fusion8 is a plasma skin treatment that doesn't remove the top layer of skin. It has several settings, from gentle cold plasma to warm plasma, so I can match the treatment to your skin. At The Age-Well Room in Maroochydore, every Fusion8 plan starts with a free consultation, so we can look at your skin together first.
I'm Bec Westman, the owner and practitioner here. Fusion 8 plasma is one of the treatments people ask me about most, often because they've heard of plasma and aren't sure how it's different from Plasma Fibroblast. Here's an honest, plain-English guide.
What is Fusion8 Plasma?
Fusion8 Plasma is a non-ablative plasma treatment, which means it doesn't remove the top layer of skin. It delivers controlled plasma energy to the skin in tiny pulses, which triggers your skin's natural healing response and the growth of new collagen.
Warm plasma is used to support your skin's own collagen production, and for concerns such as fine lines, sun damage, uneven skin tone and pigmentation. Cold plasma settings can be used on congested or blemish-prone skin. Plasma may also help your skin take up serums applied during the treatment.
People come to me with a range of skin concerns, including:
- Congested and blemish-prone skin: used to calm congestion and the look of redness and scarring.
- Redness-prone skin: used to calm the look of redness.
- Scarring, pigmentation and sunspots: used to reduce their appearance.
- Fine lines and wrinkles: used to support a smoother-looking complexion.

Fusion8 or Plasma Fibroblast?
Both use plasma, but they work quite differently, and the healing is very different too.
| Fusion8 Plasma | Plasma Fibroblast | |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon dots or crusts? | No. It doesn't remove the top layer of skin or leave carbon dots | Yes. Small carbon dots form and usually shed around days 4–9 |
| Typical healing | Most people have some redness or warmth for about 24 to 48 hours | Redness, swelling and carbon dots for around a week |
| Typical number of sessions | Usually a course of 3 sessions, spaced 6 weeks apart | Some people are happy after one treatment; a repeat can be done from week 12 |
| Areas | Face and body, depending on the setting | Eyelids, under eyes, forehead, lip lines, jowls, neck and some body areas |
| Who it may suit | People wanting help with tone, texture, fine lines or congested skin, with less visible healing | People wanting to address hooding, lines or loose skin, who are comfortable with a few days of visible healing |
You can read more about Plasma Fibroblast on our Anti-Ageing & Skin Tightening page.
How many sessions?
It depends on the setting and your skin, but most people have a course of 3 sessions, spaced 6 weeks apart. Your plan is set at your consultation, and we review it as we go.
What to expect on the day and afterwards
- Before we start: we talk through your goals, check your skin and health history, and cleanse the skin. For warm plasma, I apply numbing cream after cleansing.
- During treatment: most people describe a warm, tingling or prickly feeling. I check in with you throughout and can adjust the treatment.
- Straight afterwards: most people have some redness or warmth for about 24 to 48 hours. This is a normal part of your skin's response.
- Aftercare: wear SPF 50+ and a hat outdoors (so important under our Sunshine Coast sun), and avoid heat and sweating, such as saunas, hot showers and hard exercise, for one week. Avoid skincare with active ingredients for a week too. You can wear makeup again after 2 days.
Please note that our Pre & Post Plasma Care page is written for Plasma Fibroblast. Fusion8 aftercare is different, and I'll go through it with you before you leave.
Who it may not suit
Fusion8 isn't right for everyone. It may not suit you if you:
- are pregnant
- have recently had cosmetic injections
- have had recent harsh sun exposure
- have an autoimmune condition.
Suitability for your skin type is checked at your consultation, and I'll explain any risks, such as changes in pigmentation, before we go ahead.
Fusion8 for the scalp and hair restoration
Fusion8 plasma can also be used on the scalp as part of a hair restoration treatment plan. I use the Hyper Plasma setting, and it's designed to support a healthier-looking scalp.
A scalp session takes 30 minutes and is $150. Results vary from person to person, so we'll talk through your goals and whether it may suit you at your free consultation.
Prices
Fusion8 treatments start from $150 for a full-face Hyper Plasma session, and Warm Plasma starts from $250. The full price list is in the settings table above.
Prices current at the time of publishing (23 October 2026). Book on Fresha.
Results vary from person to person. A consultation is needed to check suitability.
Fusion8 Plasma FAQs
What is Fusion8 Plasma?
Fusion8 is a plasma skin treatment with several settings, including warm and cold plasma. It doesn't remove the top layer of skin. At The Age-Well Room in Maroochydore, it's used for fine lines, uneven tone, texture and congested skin.
How is Fusion8 different from Plasma Fibroblast?
Plasma Fibroblast creates tiny carbon dots that shed over about a week as the skin heals. Fusion8 doesn't create those dots, so healing is usually shorter, but a course of several sessions is often suggested. I'll explain which suits your goals.
Is there any downtime after Fusion8?
Most people have some redness or warmth afterwards, usually for about 24 to 48 hours. You'll need to protect your skin from the sun and avoid heat and sweating for one week. You can wear makeup again after 2 days, and it's best to avoid skincare with active ingredients for a week.
How many Fusion8 sessions will I need?
It depends on the setting and your skin, but most people have a course of 3 sessions, spaced 6 weeks apart. Your plan is set at consultation.
Does Fusion8 hurt?
Most people describe a warm, tingling or prickly feeling. For warm plasma, I apply numbing cream after cleansing your skin. I check in with you throughout and can adjust the treatment.
Can Fusion8 be used on darker skin tones?
Your skin type and history are checked at your consultation before any treatment. I'll explain which settings may suit you and any risks, such as changes in pigmentation.
How much does Fusion8 cost?
Fusion8 treatments at The Age-Well Room start from $150 for a full-face Hyper Plasma session, and Warm Plasma starts from $250. Your first consultation is free.
