After your treatment

The day after your procedure, use the recommended healing balm.
Once the carbon crusts have fallen off, you can begin using a gentle daily cleanser and moisturiser.
Daily SPF 50+ sunscreen is extremely important during the healing process.
Avoid direct sun exposure and always wear SPF 50+.
No sunless tanners, spray tan, tanning booths, saunas, hot tubs or sun tan until fully healed.
Retinols and active skincare may be resumed after 6 weeks.
Healing stages
Day 1–2
Immediately after the procedure, the treated area will have carbon dot marks. Skin will feel hot and tight. There may be pinpoint bleeding to the odd area as the anaesthetic wears off.
Day 2–4
Swelling will most likely occur. This is normal and is due to the body's wound response. You may also experience some mild clear fluid leakage. This is normal and can be blotted clean.
Day 4–9
The dots will start to shed and new skin will appear fresh and pink. Never pick off the dots as this may result in scarring, pitted skin and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Week 1–4
Your skin is still repairing. It will still feel dry and tight, so keep the skin hydrated and remember your SPF 50+ and vitamin C supplements every day, to better assist healing.
Week 4–8
The skin will be starting to show signs of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production. Skin will appear healthier, plumper with improved texture and complexion.
Week 8–12
You are well on your way to seeing your final results. If repeat treatments are recommended, they can take place from week 12 as the Type III Collagen is continuing to build the skin's foundations.
